Comments received via this website, email or post will appear under the Documents tab.

For security reasons, your session will time out after 30 minutes so if your needs go beyond this period, please be advised to prepare your comment(s) beforehand and copy and paste these to the online form.

The personal data you provide in order to submit a comment (name, address, email address and optional telephone number) is necessary in order to:-

• Provide your contact details to the relevant planning team who may contact you regarding your comments or to update you on a case
• Send you confirmation emails of any comments that you submit against a case
• Publish your name, address and comment only, on the Public Access website.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by submitting your comment you are consenting to the use of your personal data being used for these purposes.
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can do this by sending an e-mail to planning@eastriding.gov.uk requesting your details are removed.

Will my details be made public when I comment on an application?

Responses will be published on the council’s website, and will be open for viewing by members of the public.
We will publish your name, address and comment only. Your e-mail address and telephone number will automatically be excluded from publishing if you submit your comment via Public Access.
If you submit comments by any other means, redaction will be applied (blanking out or obscuring from public view) to e-mail addresses, telephone numbers and signatures. It is important that you do not include your personal details in the actual comment.

The council will not post comments submitted anonymously or those which it considers to contain libellous, discriminatory, defamatory or otherwise offensive remarks. The council has an absolute discretion in this matter, and reserves the right not to post comments in the event that by reason of the volume of comments submitted, it is not possible to check submissions for inappropriate content. The council dissociates itself from any comments made of a libellous, discriminatory, defamatory or otherwise offensive nature. There is a procedure for lodging a complaint about any alleged defamatory material on the council's website.

Any correspondence received which the council considers contains libelous, discriminatory, defamatory or otherwise offensive comments will not be taken into account in assessing planning or related applications.
